Webradio-Links added

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

I have added links to Radio Rivendell. You find them in the right bar, just below the recent forum-posts. Radio Rivendell is a webradio station dedicated to fantasy soundtracks. The music is absolutely great and a cool addition to any roleplaying session for background-music. But you can also listen to it while browsing the sts-forums  .

To get started all you need is a music-player on your computer like the Windows Media Player, Winamp or iTunes. Then just click on the according button and start listening. I hope you enjoy this service.

“The Germans” documentary

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I recently found this series of excellent documentary films on the web. It is about the history of germany from its beginnings around 900 AD. Especially the first four or five episodes are great as they show a lot of fluff for WFRP and give you an idea how a mediveal/renaissance society worked and looked like. As it is a very new production it only exists in the german original. But I think that it is even worth to watch it even if you cannot understand a word

Music for your RPG-sessions

Friday, October 17th, 2008

If you use music as a way to create some atmosphere in your game you might possibly like this one. I recently found Radio Rivendell, a webradio station that broadcasts fantasy soundtracks right for your rpg-session. Perhaps you knew this station already but for those who don’t knew it should really give it a try - its really worth it and its absolutely free.

Playing Warhammer using Savage Worlds

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Last sunday we made some kind of experiment by starting a mini-wfrp-campaign using the Savage Worlds system. And though I had some initial doubts that it could work I decided to give it a try. And it run to my surprise quite well. Savage Worlds is a relatively easy to learn system that does a lot of things different than the usual stock-rpg. (more…)

During a trip to Prague I was lucky to film this musketeers on the Old Town Square. I thought it is worth sharing the film with you :)

How nuts can you go?

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

This is some kind of OT but I thought I’ll share with you.  When reading stuff like that I really ask myself how nuts fanboys (in this case WoW) can go:

Bezahltag

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Murich drowned another community of unseen germs within the folds of his gut. He had been downing one Braakbroew after another in quick succession since night had fallen. His sorrows were growing ever more acute by the hour. Life in Marienburg was weighed in coins, not worth. Today’s experiences had hammered that home more than ever.

For now, the beer flowed freely as it was Bezahltag, payday. The remainder of his contract pay lay 8 days hence and combined with the abundance of mugs arriving at the table it would make the absence of coin more hard felt over the coming week. (more…)

A medieval castle…

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

ThisMarch I had MadAlfred and his family here in Austria and I showed them my beautiful country. Amongst the places we visit also was the Burg Kreutzenstein, a castle about 12 miles outside of Vienna. As I made a lot of photos I thought it would be nice to share them with you. Perhaps you get some inspiration for your roleplaing games :-) . And before you ask: yes it was snowing…

A roman townhouse

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

This is another series of pictures I took when MadAlfred was here in Austria. We were in the roman town of Carnuntum, provincial capital of the province Pannonia. Even if its roman it has some warhammeresque charm and I wanna share this pictures with you.

The Halo-Syndrome

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

When I’m not playing games or working on this website I sometimes play as an actress in selfmade shortfilms. This one was an entry to Microsofts Halo Recut Contest. Though we didn’t win a price, I think this piece is worth sharing, even if it hasn’t something to do with Warhammer. Unfortunately the film is in german, so I hope you enjoy it anyway:

BTW, I’m the newsspeaker…
